Charlottesville, Va. - Duquesne's volleyball team was defeated by host Virginia, 3-0 (30-21, 30-17, 30-20), in their second game of the UVA Jefferson Cup Tournament Friday evening at Memorial Gym.
Diana Wuebker and Amanda Haeg led the Red and Blue with nine kills apiece and Dana McLaughlin and Stephanie Hopkins saved eight plays each with defensive digs.
Sarah Kirkwood paced the Cavaliers (6-1) with 18 kills and Melissa Caldwell recorded 19 digs.
The Dukes (3-4) return to action in their third and final game of this two-day event Saturday, September 11th at 10:30 a.m. when they will matchup with the Radford Highlanders (2-4). Radford lost to Penn (2-0), 3-0, after being defeated by UVA by the same score earlier Friday.
