Pittsburgh, Pa. - Duquesne University head men's basketball coach Danny Nee today announced Thursday that 6-7, 215-pound forward Ryan Lambert (Germantown, Md./Hargrave Military Academy) has enrolled in classes and will join the men's basketball program. Lambert, who started 20 of 28 games at Western Kentucky last season, will sit out the 2004-05 season due to NCAA transfer rules. He will have three seasons of eligibility at Duquesne.
"I really liked Ryan out of prep school," said Nee. "We're pleased to catch him this time around. By having played a season, he comes to us more mature and experienced - plus we'll have him for three years."

Lambert, who attended Northwest High School (Germantown, Md.) and prepped at Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, Va.), averaged 5.3 ppg. and 4.8 rpg. for 15-13 Western Kentucky this past season. After coming off the bench in the first five games of the season, Lambert went on to start 20 of the Hilltoppers' last 23 games. His 25.2 minutes per game average was fourth-highest on the team. He added 31 assists, 19 steals and was second on the team with 11 blocked shots and 13 dunks.
Lambert's 134 total rebounds were the second-highest freshman total in WKU school history behind the 275 boards posted by 7-1, 285-pound Chris Marcus in 1999-00. Lambert was one of the reasons Western Kentucky finished the season ranked sixth nationally in rebound margin at +7.2 rpg. The Germantown, Md. native scored a season-high 18 points vs. Arkansas-Little Rock and added a season-best 11 rebounds vs. Louisville.
Lambert, who averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in helping Hargrave Military Academy to a 27-4 record in 2002-03, will receive the fifth and final scholarship Duquesne had available.
