Pittsburgh, Pa. - Duquesne University's women's lacrosse junior mid-fielder Ginger Flocco has been named to the Inside Lacrosse All-American team, the publication announced this week. Flocco (Plymouth Meeting, Pa. / Plymouth-Whitemarsh), the Atlantic 10 Conference's Offensive Player of the Year and a member of the league's Academic All-Conference team, was selected to the Inside Lacrosse national third team.
Flocco led the Dukes to the A-10 regular-season co-Championship and to the finals of the league's championship tournament. She was a two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week this season and repeats as a member of the league's All-Conference team.
The Philadelphia-area native led the A-10 with 3.22 goals, 4.33 points and 3.22 draw controls per game and was second with 1.61 caused turnovers per contest. She also was among the league leaders in assists, shots and game-winning goals.
Flocco finished the season fourth in the nation in draw controls, 11th in points and 12th in goals per game. As a team the Dukes were tied for eighth in the country with a 0.778 winning percentage and with 10.67 caused turnovers per match. In addition, DU was 10th in scoring margin (+ 3.83), tied for 12th in scoring offense (12.39 gpg) and 16th in scoring defense (8.56 gpg).
This Duquesne student-athlete was the only Atlantic 10 player honored by Inside Lacrosse this season.
