Women's XC Stays No. 10

Duquesne University women's cross country team held onto its No. 10 ranking in this week's Mid-Atlantic Region Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association (WICCCA) poll. Duquesne first appeared in the top 10 the last week of September.

The Red & Blue posted a strong showing at last week's Notre Dame Invitational taking sixth out of 19 teams in the Gold competition. Freshman Samantha Howard (Moon Twp. Pa./Moon) led the Dukes taking 11th in the 154-athlete field. Fellow frosh Amy Ruffolo took 33rd while junior Elizabeth Graham finished 40th overall.

Duquesne opened the season hosting the Duquesne Duals where they went 4-1 falling only to West Virginia, which is ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Red & Blue took fourth at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational Sept. 11 and captured the title of the Duquesne Invitational Sept. 24.

Duquesne returns to action this Saturday at the National Open hosted by Penn State.
