Duquesne University's Kristin Garnett (Frankfort, IL/Lincoln-Way East) has been named the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week an announced by the league office.

The freshman setter earns her second A-10 Rookie of the Week honor after leading Duquesne to a 2-0 record on the week with a 3-1 Conference win over George Washington on Oct. 23 and a 3-0 sweep of St. Francis (PA) on Oct. 22. Garnett averaged 13.00 assists and 4.00 digs per game. She registered 48 assists; a personal-best 19 digs and hit .500 (5-0-10) versus the Colonials. Garnett also registered 43 assists; nine digs, two kills and one ace in a 3-0 win over St. Francis. She did not have a single ball-handling error in seven games.

Garnett stands eighth on the Duquesne single-season list with 1,109 assists to date.

The Dukes close out a four-week road swing this weekend as they travel to La Salle Oct. 29 and face Temple Oct. 30.
