Two Duquesne student-athletes have been named to the 2002-03 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference Team. Deidre Rodeheaver (Danville, Pa./Danville) and Lauren Twombly (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) were named to the women's swimming and diving academic team the league office announced Wednesday. The sophomores are two of six Dukes from the swimming and diving and indoor track and field teams to receive this scholastic honor.
Rodeheaver, a sophomore, earned a 3.73 GPA in accounting. She a new Duquesne record in the 50-yard freestyle (24.51) with her 13th-place finish at the A-10 championships and placed 15th in the 100 free with a personal-best time of 53.93. She placed 17th in the 200-yard freestyle with a career-best time of 1:57.06 at A-10s as well. Rodeheaver was a member of three DU record-setting relays at A-10s taking fourth in the 200 and 400 free relays and sixth in the 200 medley relay.
Twombly (left), a physical therapy major, boasts a 3.76 GPA. The sophomore turned in a personal-best time of 1:10.75 in the 100-yard breaststroke at this year's A-10 championships. Her time of 2:30.09 in the 200-yard breaststroke was a personal-best as well and stood second on the team this past year.
Also honored today were Sarah Fetterman, Carrie Hucko and Shea McMillan from the women's indoor track and field team and swimmer Jeff Retallack.
