Flocco Named to womenslacrosse.com Honor Roll

Sophomore midfielder Ginger Flocco has been named to the womenslacrosse.com weekly honor roll after leading the Dukes to a 2-0 mark this past week.

Flocco hit a personal-best five goals on six shots to lead the game in the Dukes' 11-10 come-from-behind victory over Bucknell and added four goals in the win over Ohio.

She led the team and game hitting a season-best five goals in the Dukes' 13-8 win over Ohio on six shots. Flocco won two draws and added two groundballs and one caused turnover as well. Three of her goals came in the second half and she was 2-2 on free position shots vs. the Bobcats.

Flocco led the Dukes and tied the game lead with four goals in the Dukes' come-from-behind win over Bucknell. She took six shots on goal on the day. Flocco rallied late in the second half hitting goals at 3:25 and 1:49 to tie the game at 10-10 (DU trailed 3-7 at the half). She tied the Duquesne record winning eight draws vs. the Bison; the last time a Duke had won eight was back in 1999 vs. Stanford. Flocco also caused three turnovers and scooped up three groundballs vs. Bucknell.

She leads the Dukes with 31 goals and adds nine assists for a team-best 40 points. Flocco also holds the top marks for Duquesne in draws won (35) and caused turnovers (31) and stand second in groundballs (27). On the season, she is 5-5 on free position shots.
