Atlantic 10 Championship - Day Two Preliminaries

Results

The women's swimming team broke four more school records in the day two qualifying round of the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Senior Annie Baldassari set the new standard in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing fifth in 1:55.14, freshman Jillian Rupinski turned in the school's best ever time in the 100-yard breaststoke, placing sixth in 1:07.56 and freshman Sarah Breisinger is the new record holder in the 100-yard backstroke with a seventh place time of 59.04.

These three individuals will swim in the finals tonight as will freshman Amy Gersbach, who finished 14th in the 400-yard IM in 4:43.81, sophomore Laura Kephart, who placed ninth in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.97, junior Kathy Smucler, who placed ninth in the 200 free in 1:56.25 and junior Alicia Smith who finished 11th in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.69.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Breisinger, freshman Jillian Rupinski, Kephart and sophomore Deidre Rodeheaver also set a school record and finished fifth in 1:48.96. They too will compete for points tonight.
