Dukes' Morrow Named A-10 Player of the Week

Duquesne University's Sarah Morrow (Baytown, Texas/Robert E. Lee) was named the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Dukes to a 3-0 record and to the title of the Duquesne Invitational.

Morrow, a 6-0 middle hitter, was named the Duquesne Invitational MVP this past weekend after leading the Red & Blue to a 3-0 mark to start the season. She averaged 3.43 kills, 2.71 digs and 1.14 blocks on the weekend as the Dukes captured their tournament title for the third time in its five-year history.

Morrow posted double figure kills and digs in all three matches led by a match- and career-best 20-kill performance in the Dukes' 3-2 win over Western Illinois. She had 11 kills, 10 digs and a match- and career-best nine blocks (2 solo, 7 assisted) in DU's 3-2 win over Liberty and added 12 digs vs. Western Illinois. She hit .406 (17-4-32) in Duquesne's 3-1 win over West Virginia in the championship match adding 16 digs and tied the match-lead with six blocks (1 solo 5 assisted).

The Dukes are in action this weekend at the Canisius Tournament Sept. 6-7.
