A trip to College Park, MD to face defending national champion Maryland and a short ride across town to open the season versus nationally ranked Pittsburgh highlight the preliminary non-conference slate for the 2002-03 men's basketball team.
No. 1 Maryland and No. 9 Pitt join No. 24 Xaver as three teams on the 2002-03 schedule who appeared in this year's final USA Today/ESPN poll. Other non-conference opponents include: West Virginia, Cleveland State, George Mason and the fields at the San Juan Shootout & Florida International Holiday Classic.
