Duquesne University's Diana Wuebker (St. Henry, Ohio/St. Henry) has been named to the 2002 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team as voted upon by the league head coaches.
Wuebker, a 6-1 middle hitter, started all 30 matches and ranked second for the Dukes with 2.56 digs and 0.82 blocks per game, and was third with 2.61 kills per game. A two-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the week, Wuebker was one of the Dukes' top servers standing in a tie for second on the team with 25 aces. She posted a .250 hitting percentage and recorded double-figure kills in 15 of her matches, including a career-best 24 at La Salle. Wuebker also posted double figure digs in 10 matches with her personal-best being 21 at La Salle as well. One of the team's top blocker's she rejected a match-best nine attacks in the Dukes' victory over Rhode Island.
Duquesne finished the season 18-12 overall under fifth-year head coach Steve Opperman. The Dukes were 7-7 in Atlantic 10 play to finish in a three-way tie for fourth in the Conference. Their 18 wins marks the most since the 1996 slate and they posted back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1993-94.
