"The hard part is preparing and keeping them focused on the goal. Iona's a good football team. Its hard to stop us with [Jeremy] Conley and running game. They terrorize our defense in practice. They're hard to stop. Its not easy."

On running back Mike Hilliard:

"He's getting better every week. It has taken him time to come back from an injury. He's doing a nice job. Our offensive coaches are doing a good job of spreading things out and mixing things up."

• Duquesne cornerback Leigh Bodden (right) who tied a school record with three interceptions, bringing his career total to 27 - one shy of the I-AA record:

"I think about it [the record]. Everybody on my team wants me to get it. I try to go out and make the defense better."

• Duquesne receiver Jeremy Conley who passed Gerald Foster to become DU's all-time receiving yardage leader:
