Duquesne University's Carrie Hucko (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) has been named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team as announced today by the league office.
Hucko, a junior, placed third overall at the Atlantic 10 Championships in a career-time of 17:55 to earn a spot on the all-conference team. She boasts a 3.37 GAP in business and has been named to the Dean's List, Director of Athletics' Honor Roll and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll each semester.
Her championship of 17:55 time stands ninth best all-time among Atlantic 10 performers. She is just the third Duke to earn all-conference laurels in cross country.
Hucko helped lead DU to a fifth-place showing overall and she ran the second-best time on Duquesne's all-time Schenley Park list with her performance at this year's Conference championship. She ran 43 seconds faster than her previous personal best of 18:38 - also at Schenley Park - and finished first for the Dukes in all six meets this past year. Hucko was 16th overall at the NCAA pre-nationals out of 275 runners, third overall at Duquesne Duals, fifth at the DU invite, sixth at the Malone Invite and fourth at the Bucknell Invite.
