Duquesne University Athletics

When former athletic director Bryan Colleary announced that Duquesne would field a women’s soccer team beginning as a club team in 1994, then Division I the following season, Pittsburgh-native Shelly Heisey was selected to build the program. Heisey came to the Bluff after achieving unprecedented success at Upper St. Clair High School. She recorded 50 wins before resigning after the 2000 season.
