Q2. What do you miss most about Duquesne soccer or Duquesne in general?

I miss being able to see friends everyday walking through campus. I also miss Rooney Beach!

Q3. What's your favorite Duquesne soccer memory?

My favorite memory is when we made history and won the Atlantic 10 Championship my Junior year!

Q4. Do you have any advice for the current team?

My advice would be to really appreciate the time you have at Duquesne as a student athlete. I know there are days that are mentally and physically exhausting but overall it is the best experience to be able to go through. Cherish the time you have because it goes so fast. Make as many memories as possible, have fun, and work hard.

Q6. Do you still keep in touch with your teammates?

Yes of course, I made forever lasting friendships from DUWS.

Q7. Provide a quote about your entire experience with Duquesne Women's Soccer.

My experience at Duquesne was life changing. It made me stronger not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.  Everything that I experienced and learned with DUWS has been carried into my life every day.

Probably sophomore year when we won in overtime and  we all ran to Cydney Staton to celebrate!

Jorden Thornton (30

Jorden Thornton

- Class of 2019, Physical Therapy
- Currently residing in Culloden, WV

Q1. What are you up to now?
I passed my PT boards and am currently job searching!

Q2. What do you miss most about Duquesne soccer or Duquesne in general?
I really miss being in Pittsburgh. Duquesne is so unique in that you have the feel of a campus right in the heart of the city. I miss seeing friends everyday too, it's harder to see people when you have to make time on your own without school forcing you in the same area as everyone!

Q3. What's your favorite Duquesne soccer memory?
My favorite memory is before every game we would blast music and even had full on dance parties complete with strobe lights to get us hype. Also, winning A10's and making it to the first round of the NCAA tournament in 2015 was a great memory too!

Q4. Do you have any advice for the current team?
My advice would be to not beat yourself up about not being perfect. I struggled my freshman and sophomore year because I wasn't doing well in school or soccer. Once I let go of all the doubts I had about myself and had a little more fun with the experience, because not very many get to experience what we do as college athletes, I enjoyed my time so much more and performed better on the field and in class!

Q6. Do you still keep in touch with your teammates?
I do! My roommate of 4 years was also on the soccer team and she is one of my absolute best friends still to this day. A few of the girls in my class, some of the girls older than me, and some of the younger girls I keep in touch with as well (I played a 5th year due to an injury, so I got to meet even more girls and become close with them as well!) It's easy to keep in touch with social media too.

Q7. Write one quote about Duquesne Women's Soccer.
Enjoy the time you have, keep working hard, and good luck!

I currently work part time for our family business while being a stay at home mom to two little ones (Madison - 4 years old, Liam - 1 year old)

Q2. What do you miss most about Duquesne soccer or Duquesne in general?
Being in shape haha! Kidding. Kind of. No in all seriousness I LOVED my experience at Duquesne. The memories I made there on and off the field are ones I will never forget. Being able to play a sport you love, with friends you love and travel the country while doing it was a dream come true.

Q3. Have you been able to make it back to campus since you left?
Since graduating in 2013, I have been back at least once a year to catch a game. It's a little different now not knowing any of the players but it's still nice to see Al and watch the team develop year to year.

Q4. What's your favorite Duquesne Soccer memory?
Oh gosh. So many. It was great making the Atlantic 10 tournament my sophomore year. It was also cool to travel to bigger D1 schools and compete (Miami-FL, Ohio State, WVU, University of Michigan, etc.).

I think my advice to the current team would be to leave it all out on the field and soak up the little moments because they go so fast.

Q6. Do you still keep in touch with your teammates?
Yeah I actually keep in touch with quite a few of my former teammates. It's definitely easy to do so with social media. Three of my teammates/roommates were actually in my wedding (Shout-out Paige, Morgan & Babs).

Q7. Write one quote about Duquesne soccer.
I wish the Duquesne Women's Soccer team good luck in this upcoming season and hope to make it to Pittsburgh for a game.
