Aurielle Anderson

Aurielle Anderson completed her second season as an assistant coach on the Duquesne women's basketball staff during the 2024-25 season, after joining the Duke's ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Anderson arrived on the Bluff after spending two seasons at Long Island University as an assistant coach. Prior to LIU, she spent time as a coach at Gary West Side High School and strength and conditioning coach at Kalamazoo College as well as Savannah State University.

In her two seasons with the Dukes, Anderson played a key role in guiding Duquesne to back-to-back 20-win campaigns, each culminating in a berth to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). The consecutive 21-win seasons are tied for the sixth-most in program history,

During the 2024–25 season, she assisted the offensive coordinator in developing and implementing an offensive philosophy that led to a record-breaking year for the Dukes. Duquesne set a program record with 341 made three-pointers and scored a single-season high of 2,446 points. The team also averaged 71.9 points per game and tallied 863 field goals—both ranking second in program history.

In addition to organizing and managing film breakdown, Anderson took on an expanded role in player development, focusing on on-court instruction aligned with Duquesne’s offensive philosophy—particularly for wing and guard positions. She was instrumental in the development of Jerni Kiaku, the team’s second-leading scorer, who improved across all statistical categories. Kiaku averaged 13.2 points per game, shot a team-best .471 percent from the field, and hit .714 percent from the charity stripe. She scored in double figures 28 times and led the team in scoring on five different occasions.

Anderson brings both domestic and international recruiting experience, along with a strong background in academic support. She has served as the academic liaison for student-athletes, assisting with class scheduling, monitoring study hall participation, and maintaining communication with professors.

A four-year letterwinner for Western Michigan’s women’s basketball team, Anderson received many conference weekly honors and team accolades. During her sophomore season, she shared the team’s Most Valuable Defensive Player award. As a senior, she led the team with 93 assists and scored a season-high 26 points and had six rebounds and four assists at Milwaukee.

Anderson is a native of Gary, Indiana and earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Western Michigan in 2014.
