Pittsburgh, Pa. – According to a vote of Atlantic 10 head coaches and select members of the media, a pair of Duquesne University men's basketball student-athletes were honored with postseason Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors Wednesday. Senior guard
Tarence Guinyard was named to the 2026 A-10 All-Conference First Team, while junior guard
Jimmie Williams earned a spot on the 2026 A-10 All-Conference Third Team.
Guinyard, a native of Tampa, Fla., is the first member of the Dukes to garner all-conference first team accolades since forward Damian Saunders (2007-11) in 2010. In 30 games this season, he leads Duquesne in scoring at 16.9 points per game while also owning a team-high 142 assists (4.73 per game). He has converted 45.9 percent (162-for-353) of his attempts from the floor, including 36.6 percent (68-for-186) from beyond the arc, while ranking second for Duquesne in steals with 38.
Entering the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship that begins Wednesday at PPG Paints Arena, Guinyard has scored in double figures in each of his last 13 games. Over that span he has averaged 17.5 points per contest while shooting 42 percent (71-for-169) from the floor and 75.3 percent (55-of-73) at the free-throw line. Included among his performances during that stretch is his first career double-double at Duquesne, as well as the second of his career, with 12 points and a career-high 12 assists
against St. Bonaventure (Jan. 28) at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. Against the Bonnies, Guinyard tied the program's single-game record for assists, becoming the fifth player in program history to dish out 12 dimes in a game.
In
an 88-86 victory over George Washington (Feb. 7), Guinyard scored 23 of his game-high 27 points in the second half, including 16 consecutive points to help the Dukes take control in the win. It's a key trend for Guinyard, who has scored at least 15 points in the second half in six games this season, including five against A-10 foes.
Guinyard also kicked off a 13-0 run to end the game
in a 79-77 victory over Richmond (March 7) on Senior Day and as part of the Chuck Cooper Classic by scoring the first seven points of the burst as the Dukes erased a 30-point deficit to earn the win. Duquesne became just the fourth program in NCAA Division I history to climb out of a deficit of 30 points or more. Among Atlantic 10 leaders, Guinyard ranks second in the conference in scoring, fourth in assists, seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.12) and ninth in three-point field goals made per game (2.27).
Williams, a native of Solon, Ohio, is the first player for Duquesne to earn a spot on the all-conference third team since former guard Micah Mason (2013-16) in 2016. The only member of the Dukes to start all 31 games this year, Williams has produced averages of 15.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while leading the team in steals with 47. He has shot 46.1 percent (166-for-360) from the field and 76 percent (76-for-100) at the charity stripe.
Earlier this season, Williams posted a double-figure scoring streak of 20 consecutive games, the longest by a member of the Dukes in over 15 years. He averaged 17.5 points over that stretch while shooting an even 50 percent (124-for-248) from the field, including 39.6 percent (44-for-111) from deep, and 81.4 percent (57-of-70) at the free-throw line. Each of his six games reaching the 20-point plateau game during the streak, including a career-high 28 points
against No. 24 Saint Louis (Jan. 20) at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
Among Atlantic 10 leaders, Williams ranks eighth in both scoring and steals per game (1.52) while also ranking 16th in three-point field goals made per game (1.90) and 20th in assists (2.52). The duo of Guinyard and Williams have also combined for 974 points entering the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship as they look to become the second pair of players to each eclipse 500 points in the same season in the last three years, joining former guards Dae Dae Grant (2022-24) and Jimmy Clark III (2022-24).
Led by head coach
Dru Joyce III, Duquesne owns an overall record of 17-14 (.568) and earned the No. 7 seed in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship thanks to a 9-9 (.500) ledger in conference play. The Dukes will take on No. 10 seed Rhode Island Thursday, March 12, in a 5:00 p.m. tip at PPG Paints Arena.
