THE DUKES
Roster • Schedule • Stats
  • Last Time Out: Duquesne dropped a heartbreaker last Wednesday at Robert Morris, 13-12, as the Colonials converted a free-position opportunity with 0.6 seconds remaining. The Dukes had a shot stopped at the 30-second mark before Robert Morris drew a foul with two seconds left to set up the game-winning chance. Sophomore Megan Marco scored a career-high four goals with one assist to lead six Duquesne goal scorers. Gracin Emerson added a goal and five assists. Duquesne erased a six-goal deficit with an 8-0 run spanning from the 9:49 mark of the second quarter to 8:13 in the fourth, turning a 10-4 deficit into a 12-10 lead. The Colonials answered with the game's final three goals.
  • National Leader: Junior Gracin Emerson leads Division I with 5.33 assists per game through three contests. Her 16 total assists are tied for fifth nationally despite having played one fewer game than all others in the top five. Emerson ranks in the top 10 nationally in points per game (6.00), totaling 18 points on 16 assists and two goals. She opened the season with four assists at Akron, tied the program's single-game record with seven in the home opener and added five more at Robert Morris. Her eight-point performance against Mount St. Mary's is tied for the second-most by an Atlantic 10 player this season, and the seven assists tied Kat McNish's program record (2007 vs. Monmouth), a mark that had stood alone for 6,924 days. Emerson is the only A-10 player with four or more assists in three games and is one of five players nationally with multiple five-assist performances this year.
  • Raining Goals: Senior Emma Raines leads the Dukes with eight goals. After back-to-back hat tricks to open the season, she added two more at Robert Morris. Raines has scored eight goals on nine shots and ranks second nationally with an .889 shot percentage.
  • Shoot & Score: Duquesne ranks fourth in all of Division I with a .574 team shot percentage, converting 31 goals on 54 shots. Raines (.889) and Marco (.875, seven goals on eight shots) lead the efficiency numbers. The Dukes also rank among the top five nationally in free-position percentage, converting four of five attempts (.800). Raines, Chelsea Evans, Addison Scanlon and Mia Piocquidio are each 1-for-1 from the arc.
  • Freshmen Force: First-year contributors have made an early impact. Goalkeeper Ella Roach, a local Mars Area High School product, has started all three games and totaled 24 saves, including a season-high 10 in the home opener. Madison Welch leads the team with 13 draw controls, charting eight last game at Robert Morris. Sydney Girardi has two goals this season, both coming in her Rooney Field debut.
  • About the Dukes: Duquesne features six seniors, five juniors, six sophomores and six freshmen on its 2026 roster, led by second-year head coach Tracy Coyne, who owns 327 career victories across 37 seasons — the eighth-most among active NCAA Division I head coaches. The Dukes are replacing the production of two all-conference selections and five of their top six scorers from last season due to graduation.
