THE DUKES
Roster • Schedule • Stats
  • Duquesne dropped its season opener, 17-6, at Akron last Saturday. Emma Raines led the Dukes with a hat trick, while Gracin Emerson dished out a game-high four assists. Megan Marco scored twice, tying a career high, and senior captain Chelsea Evans added a free-position goal in the fourth quarter. Five of Duquesne's six goals came in the second half.
  • Raines and Emerson each turned in back-to-back standout season-opening performances. Raines recorded a hat trick for the second consecutive opener and has totaled eight goals across three career lid lifters with the Dukes. Emerson posted her second straight season opener with four or more assists, and her four helpers on opening weekend were the most by any Atlantic 10 player.
  • Duquesne features six seniors, five juniors, six sophomores and six freshmen on its 2026 roster, led by second-year head coach Tracy Coyne, who owns 327 career victories across 37 seasons as a collegiate head coach — the eighth-most among active NCAA Division I head coaches.
  • The Dukes are tasked with replacing the production of all-conference selections Mackenzie Leszczynski (41 goals, 20 assists) and Hanna Pawela (fifth nationally in caused turnovers), along with five of their top six scorers from last season due to graduation.
30TH SEASON OF DUKES LACROSSE
  • Duquesne lacrosse is celebrating its 30th season as a varsity program on the Bluff in 2026. The Dukes, who began play in 1997, own an all-time record of 239-232 and have made 15 Atlantic 10 Championship appearances, highlighted by two regular-season co-championships.
HOME SWEET HOME
  • Duquesne is 18-11 all-time in home openers, including wins in five of its last seven.
  • The Dukes are 5-2 in home non-conference games over the past two seasons.
THE MOUNTAINEERS
Roster • Schedule • Stats
  • Mount St. Mary's also fell in its season opener, dropping a 14-11 decision to Towson last Friday at home. Brooke Molchanoff, who led the Mountaineers in points last season as a freshman, opened her sophomore campaign with three goals and an assist. Freshman Ava Kraszewski added a hat trick in her collegiate debut.
  • Head coach Lauren Skellchock is in her 12th season at the helm with a 99-83 career record.
  • The Mount went 11-6 last season, including a 7-1 mark in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play, earning the regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Championship. The Mountaineers were upset in their opening tournament game, falling 11-10 to fourth-seeded Iona.
  • Senior defender Hailey Chester and sophomore attack Brooke Molchanoff were named to the 2026 Preseason All-MAAC Team, while Mount St. Mary's was picked second in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
