NEC RELEASE
Riddell, making his first start at Rooney Field, threw for five touchdowns and 239 yards on 15-of-20 passing — all in the first half — helping Duquesne extend its home-opening win streak to 18 games. The quarterback connected with four different receivers in the end zone, including
B.J. Alexander for the second time this season,
Joey Isabella, who recorded two scores, and
Ryan Petras and
Daniel Tarabrella, who both caught their first career touchdown passes.
Riddell's five touchdown passes tied his career high, previously set in 2022 at East Tennessee State against Samford. He led the Dukes to touchdowns on all six first-half drives.
Next up: Duquesne (1-1) hosts nationally-ranked Lehigh in their first FCS matchup of the season on Saturday, Sept. 13. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at Rooney Field.
