Flyers score twice in second half to defeat Dukes

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's soccer team wrapped up a two-game road trip Sunday, falling to Dayton, 2-0, in Dayton, Ohio, at Baujan Field. The Dukes slipped to 7-3-1 (.682) overall during the 2025 season, including 2-1 (.667) in the Atlantic 10.

POINTS OF EMPHASIS
Scoreless through 45 minutes, the Flyers got on the board early in the second half. Liv Grenda battled a defender near the top of the box before turning and firing a shot with her left foot that found the back of the far left corner of the net, just outside the reach of junior goalkeeper Ali Hughes. The strike from Grenda at 56:12 was her second goal of the season.

ADDING ANOTHER
Just over six minutes later, Dayton (6-3-2 | 3-0-0 Atlantic 10) added its second goal of the contest, with Grenda in the middle of the action again for the Flyers. Ky Hau-Golden got the rally started with a throw-in, and Grenda and Olivia Baca kept the momentum going forward with passes to each other before Baca took a feed from Grenda and was able to slip one past Hughes at 62:24 to give Dayton a 2-0 cushion. The strike for Baca also marked her second goal of the year.
