- The Duquesne volleyball team opens its Atlantic 10 slate this weekend when it travels to Richmond, Va. to battle VCU inside the Siegel Center on Friday, Sept. 26 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3:00 p.m.

- The Dukes concluded non-conference play last weekend after concluding the Duquesne/RMU invitational with a 1-1 record. Duquesne secured a 3-0 sweep over Buffalo on Friday night before dropping a 3-1 decision to Saint Francis on Saturday.

- Against the Bulls, a pair of Dukes finished with double figure kills, led by Carsyn Henschen who posted her sixth match of the season with double digit kills. She finished with a team-high 11 successful swings on 18 attacks and only two errors while posting a .500 hitting percentage.

- Emersen Schrom ended with 10 kills, four digs, and one ace while continuing her streak of 10 straight matches with double figure kills. Ariel Helm and Jordan Robertson each tallied seven kills and three total blocks while Robertson posted a career-high four service aces.

- Kylie Griffin finished with six kills and one dig on Friday. Pacing the offense was Chloe Wilmot who recorded her 10th straight match of 30+ assists, finishing with 32 helpers, eight digs, two aces, and 1.5 total blocks. Madison Grimm and Hanna Wilson each finished with seven and six digs respectfully while Wilson carded a pair of aces.

- Against the Red Flash, Duquesne featured three players with double digits in kills, including Schrom (18), Henschen (14) and Robertson (12) … Schrom also added seven digs … Junior setter Chloe Wilmot collected her sixth double-double of the year with 44 assists and 13 digs … Wilmot has reached the 40-assist plateau on six occasions this season.

- Over her last three matches, Robertson owns 35 kills against just three errors in 57 total attempts for an attack percentage of .561 … Senior outside hitter Hanna Wilson finished with 11 digs, while senior libero Madison Grimm added nine … As a team Duquesne hit .279 compared to .297 for Saint Francis … The Dukes slipped to 3-2 (.600) this season in matches decided in four sets.

- Duquesne returns to UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse when it welcomes Dayton for an Atlantic 10 matchup on Tuesday, Sept. 30 beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Scouting The Rams – VCU comes to Pittsburgh after wrapping up non-conference play with a 2-6 overall record. The Rams earned a 3-1 victory at Old Dominion on Friday before falling 3-1 to NC State on Saturday night. VCU is led by Julia Rienks, who has totaled 116 kills through eight matches, averaging 3.87 kills per set — fourth in the league. Rienks also ranks second on the team with 1.97 digs per set, totaling 59 digs this season. Cansin Sendir and Elif Ozsoy pace the Rams' offense, each averaging over eight assists per set. Sendir has tallied 166 total assists, while Ozsoy has recorded 112. At the net, Letizia Galli controls the blocking game, ranking seventh in the conference with 1.03 blocks per set. Defensively, Haruka Sugimoto leads the charge, posting 82 total digs and 2.73 per set. VCU's non-conference schedule was challenging, featuring two Big Ten teams, two Sun Belt teams, and one ACC opponent.

Weekly A-10 Recognition – Junior middle blocker Jordan Robertson was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week after her performance this past weekend, announced by the league office on Tuesday. A native of Coral Springs, Fla., Robertson anchored the middle for the Dukes, averaging 1.71 blocks and 1.14 digs per set while adding 2.71 kills over two matches. She finished the weekend with 12 blocks, eight digs, 19 kills, and four service aces, earning a spot on the Duquesne/RMU Invitational All-Tournament Team. Robertson opened the weekend with five total blocks, four assists and one solo, while adding seven kills and a career-high four service aces on a .385 hitting percentage in Duquesne's 3-0 sweep of Buffalo Friday night. She carried that momentum into Saturday's match against Saint Francis, recording seven more blocks (five assists, two solo) and posting her third double-digit kill outing of the season. Robertson closed the match with 12 kills, five digs, and an impressive .667 hitting percentage.

National Ranks – Junior setter Chloe Wilmot and sophomore Emersen Schrom continue to rank among the nation's leaders in multiple statistical categories. Wilmot leads all of NCAA Division I in assists per set (11.71) and ranks third in total assists (492), just 16 shy of Abilene Christian's Rachel Koss (508). The junior has tallied 30 or more assists in all 11 matches this season, including three games with 50 or more and a career-high 66 earlier this month. Schrom has been outstanding in her sophomore campaign, ranking seventh nationally in points per set (5.49) and ninth in total points (230.5). Her 4.79 kills per set and 201 successful attacks each rank 10th in the country. Schrom has recorded double-digit kills in all 11 matches this season, including seven games with 15 or more and a streak of four consecutive matches with 20+ kills earlier this year.

A-10 Openers – Since 1986, the Dukes are 13-25 in Atlantic 10 openers, including a 10-17 mark under head coach Steve Opperman. Duquesne has split its last four league openers, most recently defeating George Washington 3-1 last season at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. The Dukes were led by Elizabeth Drelling, who finished with 11 kills, seven digs, and an ace. Carsyn Henschen contributed nine kills, while Ariel Helm added eight kills, three digs, and 1.5 blocks. Junior Madison Grimm paced the team with 16 digs, and graduate student Grace Kristofic recorded a team-high 20 assists along with eight digs. Setter Chloe Wilmot also chipped in 16 assists and seven digs in the win. Friday night will mark the 29th meeting between the Dukes and Rams, with VCU holding a 21-7 advantage in the all-time series.
