Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's golf team wrapped up its first Atlantic 10 Championship in program history Saturday, finishing fourth out of six teams in Orlando, Fla., at Evermore Resort. In the third and final round at Cypress Course, the Dukes fired a 337, closing the 54-hole tournament with a score of 984.
TEAM LEADERBOARD
Richmond stormed back to claim the first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship for women's golf, notching the best round of the tournament with a 300 to finish at 921. The Spiders defeated Dayton by eight strokes, with the Flyers concluding the championship Saturday with a 306 and closing at 929. Loyola Chicago, which held the top spot in the team rankings through the first two rounds, suffered a collapse Saturday by concluding the tournament with a 326 and finishing 13 strokes behind Dayton at 942. Trailing the Dukes and closing out the field was La Salle (1,053) and Saint Joseph's (1,242).
ALL-CONFERENCE
Freshman
Sasha Petrochko capped a stellar first year with the Dukes Saturday, earning All-Atlantic 10 First Team accolades. She handed in an 82 in the final round, concluding the 54 holes with a score of 237. Petrochko finished in a three-way tie for eighth individually with Kylee Heidemann of Dayton and Caroline Thompson of Richmond. For Petrochko, she registered a top 10 finish in six of the eight events in Duquesne's inaugural NCAA Division I campaign and at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship finished with four birdies and 30 pars. Throughout the tournament, Petrochko averaged 3.42 on a par three as well as a 5.25 on a par five, with each ranking in the top 10 individually.
AT THE TOP
Claiming medalist honors at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship was Hannah Lydic of Richmond, who finished even par Saturday with a 72 to close at 224, two strokes ahead of Cate Reisinger of Loyola Chicago. Lydic, along with Petrochko, was one of 10 student-athletes named to the 2025 All-Atlantic 10 First Team.
THE LINEUP
Junior
Lindsey Powanda posted an 86 in the third and final round Saturday, finishing in a tie for 15th individually with Grace Durkin of Loyola Chicago at 246. Powanda also finished with four birdies during the championship and tied for third on a par three with an average score of 3.17. She also added 26 pars during the event. Freshman
Abby Slankster, who registered 28 pars at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship, posted an 85 Saturday to close at 248, two strokes behind Powanda and in 17th place individually. Freshman
Katie Fodale wrapped up the event with an 84 to finish at 253, while freshman
Paige Meyers, who subbed in for rookie
Katie Caryl in the final round, posted a 90.
