Washington, D.C. – For the second time this season, freshman guard Alexis Bordas of the Duquesne women's basketball team has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

Bordas helped the Dukes to a 2-1 week, highlighted by wins over Kent State and Navy. She was one of three Dukes to score in double figures during the 58-53 victory over the Golden Flashes, then followed with her second 20-point performance of the season in the Navy Classic opener against Liberty. She closed the week by leading three players in double figures once again, this time in a 69-67 come-from-behind overtime win at Navy on Sunday.

The West Virginia native averaged 17.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game while knocking down 12 three-pointers across the three contests. She opened the week with 11 points, three assists, two steals, and three triples against Kent State. Bordas then delivered 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting and hit five triples against Liberty, while going a perfect 4-for-4 at the charity stripe and adding two rebounds. The rookie guard capped the week with 18 points, including four triples, to go along with five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the Dukes' overtime comeback win at Navy to close out the Navy Classic.

Bordas is off to a standout start in her collegiate career, leading the Dukes with more than 15 points per game, a mark that ranks ninth in the Atlantic 10. She has already connected on a conference-best 24 three-pointers, a total that stands 20th nationally. Her average of 3.0 made threes per game ranks 22nd in the country and first in the A-10. Bordas is shooting 36.4 percent from beyond the arc, good for sixth in the conference, while her 19 steals also place her third in the league.
