-The Duquesne volleyball team returns to UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse for the first time in three weeks, when it hosts Rhode Island for a pair of league contests. The Dukes welcome the Rams on Friday, Oct. 24 for their annual Pink Game beginning at 6:00 p.m. before concluding the double header on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1:00 p.m.
- The Dukes finished its five-match road swing on Tuesday night, dropping a 3-0 decision at Dayton. Senior
Carsyn Henschen registered a career milestone, eclipsing the 1,000 kills mark during the third set.
- In the opening set, the two teams traded the first six points before the Dukes went on a four-point run to take a 7-3 lead. Senior
Carsyn Henschen sparked the surge with a kill, followed by a Flyers miscue, a successful swing from senior
Ariel Helm, and a service ace from classmate
Maggie Colenbrander.
- Dayton responded with a 7-4 run to narrow the gap to 11-10, but sophomore
Emersen Schrom halted the streak with a kill. Later in the frame, the Flyers used a 10-4 run to take a 20-16 advantage.
- The Dukes fought back as sophomore
Mirabella Iriarte found the floor successfully, and Henschen and Iriarte teamed up for a block to cut the deficit to 20-18. Dayton closed out the set by scoring five of the final six points, taking a 25-19 win and a 1-0 lead in the match.

Emersen Schrom led the Dukes with nine kills and 12 digs, adding one block and a service ace.
Ariel Helm contributed five kills and three total blocks, while
Chloe Wilmot recorded 23 assists, four digs, and an ace. Seniors

Madison Grimm, and
Hanna Wilson each tallied eight digs, with Grimm also adding four assists.
- Duquesne continues its homestand when it battles Saint Louis on Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1 inside UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse for a pair of Atlantic 10 matchups.
Scouting The Rams – Rhode Island comes into the weekend with a 3-18 overall record and a 0-9 mark in league action. The Rams have currently lost 10 straight matches, most recently dropping a pair at Saint Louis. URI fell 3-1 on Friday night before falling to the Billikens in straight sets on Saturday afternoon. Rhode Island is led by Havyn Rolle, who has totaled 149 kills this season while posting 2.10 per set. Emma Vente leads the team with 2.12 kills and 2.69 points per set while Ema Stermenska is pacing the offense with 4.49 assists. Vente is also leading the rams with 19 service aces. On the defensive, Dakota Henry has collected 184 digs while averaging 2.49 per frame while Chloe Abuto has tallied 62.0 total blocks this season.
Dayton Remains - The Flyers took a 2-0 lead in the match after hitting over .300 in the second set (25-14) and jumped out to an early 6-2 advantage in the third. Duquesne battled back with three straight points, fueled by a pair of kills from Schrom and Henschen, before a Dayton error cut the deficit to one. Later in the set, a block from Helm and Schrom tied the score at 8-8, but the Flyers responded with three consecutive points to regain an 11-8 lead. The Dukes answered with a four-point run to take a 12-11 advantage, highlighted by a block from Helm and junior
Chloe Wilmot and a service ace from Schrom. Dayton countered with a 6-1 run to lead 18-15. Junior
Kylie Griffin and Schrom closed the gap to one with back-to-back kills, but the Flyers finished the match with a 7-1 surge, claiming a 25-18 victory.
1K Threshold – It was a memorable night for senior outside hitter
Carsyn Henschen, who reached a major career milestone. Trailing 6-3 in the third set, Henschen took a set from senior
Hanna Wilson and delivered a kill to surpass the 1,000-career-kill mark. She finished the match with seven kills, two digs, and a block, bringing her career total to 1,001. This season, Henschen has recorded 193 kills, ranking second on the team, and has posted double-digit kills in nine matches, leading the Dukes in kills twice. The Ohio native also ranks third on the squad with 44 total blocks, recording three or more in eight contests. With 215.5 total points on the year, she ranks second on the team and is averaging 2.87 points per set, her second-best mark of her career.
Rejection Royalty – Senior middle blocker
Ariel Helm continues to be a dominant presence at the net for Duquesne as she looks to etch her name even deeper into the program's record book.
Helm currently ranks third in program history with 395 career blocks and is on the verge of becoming just the third player in Duquesne history to surpass 400 career rejections. The Indiana native leads the Dukes with 75.0 blocks this season and has paced the team in that category 10 times. She has recorded five or more blocks in five matches this year while also posting career highs with 2.06 kills per set and a .314 hitting percentage. Helm currently stands eighth all-time at Duquesne with 77 solo blocks and second with 316 block assists. She is just three solo blocks shy of seventh place and 21 block assists away from becoming the program's all-time leader.
Did You Know? – When the Dukes capture the opening set, they own an impressive 10-1 record this season and stand 10-3 when leading the match in kills. Duquesne has posted a higher hitting percentage than its opponent in 10 matches, going 9-1 in those contests. Following this past weekend's action, the Dukes also improved to 8-1 on the year when holding opponents to a .200 hitting percentage or lower.
Dishing Dimes - Junior setter
Chloe Wilmot has established herself among the nation's elite in orchestrating an offense and has been the driving force behind the Dukes all season long. Wilmot leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks third nationally in NCAA Division I with 823 assists, averaging 10.42 per set, good for 16th in the country. She has recorded 18 matches with 30 or more assists, including eight with 40-plus and three surpassing the 50-assist mark. Earlier this season, Wilmot posted a career-high 66 assists at Miami (OH). The Virginia native is now just 177 assists shy of her second 1,000-assist season and only 30 assists away from becoming the eighth player in program history to reach 2,500 career assists. Wilmot has also notched 11 double-doubles this season, including four in the last seven matches, showcasing her all-around impact on the court.
