BUMP. SET. SPIKE.
- The Duquesne University volleyball team concludes its road swing on Tuesday evening when it travels to Dayton, Ohio to battle the Flyers for a mid-week matchup inside the Frericks Center, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
- The Dukes are coming off a pair of road victories last weekend, snapping its five-match losing streak. On Friday, Duquesne opened the weekend by securing a 3-1 victory at Fordham before sweeping the Rams in straight sets on Saturday afternoon.
- Duquesne showcased a balanced offensive attack with three players reaching double figures in kills on Friday evening, led by
Carsyn Henschen. Henschen tallied 18 kills on 33 swings for an impressive .485 hitting percentage while adding four blocks. She did much of her damage in the third set with eight kills on a .538 clip, following a strong start with five successful swings in the opener.

Emersen Schrom followed with 15 kills and nine digs, leading the team with five service aces and adding two blocks. Schrom opened the match on fire, recording seven kills on a .600 hitting percentage in the first set and five more in the third.
- Senior
Ariel Helm rounded out the trio with a career-high 14 kills, hitting an efficient .500 while tying for the team lead with four blocks. She was especially effective in the middle frames, posting seven kills in the second set and six in the final frame. Together, the trio combined for 47 kills and 10 blocks in the Dukes' victory.
- Freshman
Karli Jordan turned in a strong performance with nine kills and three digs, while sophomore
Mirabella Iriarte added six kills, three blocks, and two service aces. Junior setter
Chloe Wilmot paced the offense with her 10th double-double of the season, recording 41 assists and 21 digs along with two blocks. It marked her eighth match this year with 40 or more assists. Seniors
Hanna Wilson and
Madison Grimm each contributed five assists, with Wilson collecting 15 digs and Grimm adding 12.
- On Saturday, the Dukes featured two players with double-digit kills, led by
Emersen Schrom, who finished with 12 kills, three digs, and one block.
Carsyn Henschen added 10 kills, three digs, three blocks, and a .318 hitting percentage, moving her to just six kills shy of 1,000 for her career.

Ariel Helm contributed nine kills and five blocks, while
Mirabella Iriarte totaled eight kills, three digs, and two blocks.
Chloe Wilmot orchestrated the offense with her 11th double-double of the season, recording 35 assists, 17 digs, two blocks, and two kills. Wilmot now sits just 53 assists short of surpassing 2,500 for her career.
- Duquesne returns to UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse for the first time since the beginning of October, when it opens a six-match homestand on Oct. 24, welcoming Rhode Island for a pair of Atlantic 10 matches.
Scouting The Flyers – Located in Dayton, Ohio, the Flyers sit atop the Atlantic 10 standings and enter Tuesday riding a nine-match winning streak. Dayton owns a 14-6 overall record and remains perfect in conference play at 9-0. The Flyers are coming off a pair of road victories at George Washington, earning a 3-2 win on Friday followed by a 3-1 triumph on Saturday. Offensively, Dayton is led by Kamryn Hunt, who ranks second in the A-10 with 3.67 kills per set, third in total points (285.5), and fifth in points per set (3.97). Karissa Kaminski anchors the defense with 4.31 digs per set, while Liana Sarkissian stands eighth in the league with 69 total blocks. Setting the tone for the Flyers' balanced attack, Melina Schrader averages 6.41 assists per set, closely followed by Viktoria Wahlgren at 5.55. As a team, Dayton leads the conference in hitting percentage (.243) and also tops the league defensively, holding opponents to a .173 attack percentage.
Fordham Remains – Against the Rams on Friday, Duquesne dominated the opening set, hitting a season-best .500 with 16 kills and four service aces in a commanding 25-9 win. After a brief 4-3 edge, the Dukes exploded on an 11-2 run to pull ahead 15-5, sparked by back-to-back kills from
Emersen Schrom and capped by aces from
Karli Jordan and
Hanna Wilson.
Ariel Helm and
Chloe Wilmot added a block, and Schrom sealed the frame with consecutive kills. On Saturday, Duquesne carried that momentum into the final set, marking its third straight frame above .300 hitting with a .323 clip and four blocks. Leading 11-9, the Dukes broke it open with a 7-2 surge highlighted by a Helm-Schrom block, a Colenbrander ace, and kills from Helm and Wilmot. Fordham rallied late, but Schrom closed out the match with two kills to secure the win.
Master Of The Dish – Junior setter
Chloe Wilmot stands among the nation's elite in orchestrating an offense and has been the driving force behind the Dukes all season. She leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks fourth in NCAA Division I with 800 assists, averaging 10.53 per set, good for 13th nationally. Wilmot has recorded 18 matches with 30 or more assists, including eight with 40+ and three surpassing the 50-assist mark. Earlier this year, she notched a career-high 66 assists at Miami (OH). The Virginia native is just 200 assists away from eclipsing 1,000 in a season for the second time in her career and only 53 assists shy of becoming the eighth player in program history to reach 2,500 career assists. Wilmot has also tallied 11 double-doubles this season, including four in the last six matches.
1K Chase – Entering Tuesday's match, senior outside hitter
Carsyn Henschen is on the verge of reaching a major career milestone, needing just six more kills to eclipse the 1,000-kill mark. Henschen has tallied 994 career kills and has notched nine matches with double-digit kills this season, including back-to-back performances over the weekend. She averaged 4.00 kills per set while hitting .418 across the two-match stretch. Henschen opened the series at Fordham with 18 kills on a season-best .485 hitting percentage, then followed with 10 kills and a .318 clip in the sweep of the Rams. The Ohio native is averaging just under three kills per set this season and currently ranks second on the team with 186 total kills.
Did You Know? – When the Dukes capture the opening set, they own an impressive 10-1 record this season and stand 10-3 when leading the match in kills. Duquesne has posted a higher hitting percentage than its opponent in 10 matches, going 9-1 in those contests. Following this past weekend's action, the Dukes also improved to 8-1 on the year when holding opponents to a .200 hitting percentage or lower.
