Chicago, Ill. – The Duquesne University volleyball team opened its five-match road swing on Friday night, dropping a 3-0 decision at Loyola Chicago during Atlantic 10 action inside Gentile Arena. With the loss, the Dukes fall to 9-8 overall and 1-5 in league play.
POINT OF EMPHASIS
The Ramblers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the match, hitting a match-best .345 en route to a 25-17 victory in the opening set. In the second frame, the Dukes surged ahead 10-7 behind a pair of kills from senior
Carsyn Henschen and junior
Chloe Wilmot. Loyola Chicago quickly countered with four straight points to take an 11-10 edge before the teams found themselves deadlocked at 15. The Ramblers then regained control, closing the set on a dominant 10-2 run to claim another 25-17 win.

In the third set, Loyola Chicago opened with an early 8-5 lead before the Dukes rallied with four straight points to move ahead 9-8. Freshman
Karli Jordan sparked the run with a kill, followed by blocks from sophomore
Mirabella Iriarte, Jordan, and senior
Carsyn Henschen, before Jordan capped it off with another strong swing. The Ramblers responded with a 6-3 spurt to reclaim the lead, then extended their advantage with an 8-5 run to go up 23-18. Two late Loyola errors trimmed the margin to 23-20, but Avary DeBileck and Kaitlyn Burke closed out the match with back-to-back kills for the Ramblers.

Karli Jordan paced the Dukes with nine kills and two total blocks while
Emersen Schrom finished with 10 digs and eight kills.
Chloe Wilmot registered 24 assists and seven digs while seniors
Hanna Wilson and
Madison Grimm each finished with nine and eight digs respectively.
Mirabella Iriarte paced the team with three total blocks on Friday night.
