Bronx, N.Y. – The Duquesne University men's basketball team opened a two-game road trip Sunday, falling at Fordham, 65-63. The Dukes slipped to 9-11 (.450) overall during the 2024-25 season, including 4-3 (.571) in the Atlantic 10.
POINTS OF EMPHASIS
Josh Rivera's three-pointer with 23.9 seconds helped give the Rams the margin of victory. The Dukes had two chances in the final seconds to send the game into overtime, but a jumper from the elbow from senior guard
Tre Dinkins III was off the mark and the putback attempt from redshirt junior guard
Cam Crawford was strong. Crawford had put the Dukes in front, 63-62, with 1:35 to go on a tip-in and led Duquesne with 13 points while also adding five rebounds. Off the bench, junior guard
Kareem Rozier contributed 11 points, while Dinkins III also scored 11.

Duquesne used an early 11-4 spurt to grab a 14-9 advantage that featured field goals from five different players. Junior forward
Matúš Hronský knocked down a three-pointer, while the Dukes also got production off their bench with layups from junior guard

Maximus Edwards. Leading, 16-11, Fordham (9-11 | 1-6 Atlantic 10) responded with a 5-0 burst to grab the lead, 17-16, setting up a back-and-forth affair in the final six minutes of the first half as the opening 20 minutes featured seven ties and eight lead changes. Duquesne was able to own a 30-29 edge at halftime courtesy of junior forward
David Dixon, who knocked down a jumper with 3.2 seconds left before the break.

Corbett earned his 20th start of the 2024-25 season Sunday, the only member of the Dukes to have started all 20 games this season … Corbett has started each of his 113 career games at the NCAA Division I level … Duquesne was outrebounded, 41-27 … Sophomore
Jakub Necas paced the Dukes with seven boards while also scoring eight points … Corbett contributed eight points, leaving him four short of 1,500 for his career … Rivera led the Rams with 16 points, shooting 5-for-10 from the field and 5-for-7 from the free-throw line … His triple with 23.9 seconds remaining was his only triple of the game … The contest featured 12 ties and 15 lead changes.
