Philadelphia, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's basketball team concluded a two-game road trip Wednesday, falling to Saint Joseph's, 76-72, at Hagan Arena. The Dukes dipped to 9-12 (.429) overall during the 2024-25 season, including 4-4 (.500) in the Atlantic 10.
POINTS OF EMPHASIS
Tied, 38-38, after a three-pointer from redshirt junior guard
Cam Crawford, the Hawks used a 10-2 burst to open a 48-40 edge. SJU got six points from Xzayvier Brown, including four at the free-throw line, while Rasheer Fleming scored four points, including a dunk with 10:09 left that forced the Dukes to call timeout. Out of the break, junior forward
David Dixon stemmed the tide with a three-pointer, but five consecutive points from Dasear Haskins, including a dunk, pushed the advantage to double digits for Saint Joseph's (13-8 | 4-4 Atlantic 10), 53-43. The Hawks owned their biggest cushion with 4:17 remaining, 61-49, after a layup from Erik Reynolds II, who led SJU with 20 points and was one of four players to score in double figures for Saint Joseph's.
MILESTONE
Senior forward
Jahsean Corbett reached the 1,500-point threshold in the first half Wednesday at Saint Joseph's. His layup with 9:07 to go in the opening stanza gave the Dukes a 16-15 advantage and helped him reach the mark. Corbett became the second Duquesne student-athlete in as many years to own 1,500 career points as a member of the active roster, as former guard
Dae Dae Grant concluded his career with 2,241 points over five seasons at the NCAA Division I level, including 1,070 in two seasons on the Bluff. Corbett transferred to Duquesne prior to the 2024-25 season and in three seasons at Chicago State scored 1,303 points while grabbing 725 rebounds. Wednesday against Saint Joseph's, Corbett supplied nine points and team-high totals in rebounds (8) and assists (3).
