- The Duquesne University men's soccer team opens its 2024 season Thursday, August 22, with a 7:00 p.m. match against Seton Hill at Rooney Field.

Chase Brooks, who is in his 12th season leading the program in 2024. Brooks has posted a record of 77-83-25 (.484) on the sidelines at Duquesne and is just one win shy of his 100th career victory as a head coach.

- A total of six starters return for the Dukes in 2024, including forward
Tate Mohney, who appeared in 17 games a year ago, including four starts, and registered seven points thanks to two goals and three assists. Mohney finished with eight shots, including five on goal.

Maxi Hopfer was named to the
2024 All-Atlantic 10 Preseason Team at forward in a vote of league head coaches. Hopfer earned two starts among his six games played last season and registered 11 shots.

- In his last full season in 2022, Hopfer was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team after finishing with 14 points thanks to five goals and four assists. In 2021, Hopfer found the back of the net 11 times and also distributed six assists in finishing with 28 points to earn a spot on the All-Atlantic 10 First Team.

- In season openers under Brooks, the Dukes own a record of 5-4-2 (.545). Duquesne is opening its season at home for the first time since 2019, a 1-1 tie with Bowling Green, and just the fifth time in the last 12 seasons. In season openers at Rooney Field under Brooks, the Dukes are 3-0-1.

Ashton Jell and senior
Zoltan Nagy were each a member of the starting 11 every match. Nagy, in his first year on the Bluff after transferring from Baldwin Wallace, registered a career-high 88 saves to go along with a 1.45 goals against average and a .772 save percentage. He also recorded a pair of clean sheets. Jell finished with an assist in 2023 and logged 1,349 minutes, which ranked third for the Dukes behind Nagy (1,620) and midfielder
Grant McIntosh (1,507).

The Fresh Faces – Duquesne added a number of recruits to the program in the spring, including eight transfers. Forward
Dakota Jonke spent the last two seasons at Cornell, scoring a goal in 14 career games, while forward
Jack Rhead spent the last two seasons at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), providing 15 points on six goals and three assists. Rhead also spent time at NCAA Division II Quincy University and has scored 43 points during his career courtesy of 18 goals and seven assists.
