LEXINGTON, K.Y. -- Duquesne's Hannah Seitzinger and Madelyn Moretti competed in the first round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Seitzinger ran a 2:06.03 in 30th place of the 800m. The senior from Pittsburgh took fifth in heat one of the race. Seitzinger clocked a 1:01.45 and was in eighth after the opening 400m, then passed three competitors on the final lap to cross the final line in fifth. Seitzinger is the third Duke to compete in the 800m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (Elise Farris - 2014 and Melissa Miller - 2010) and first since 2014. Seitzinger finishes this season with three PRs, including a pair of 800m school records, along with an 800m gold medal at the IC4A/ECAC Championships and silver medal at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.

Moretti placed 34th in the shot put with a long of 14.97m (49' 1½") on her second attempt. The sophomore from Madison, Ohio was the first Duke in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships in shot put. Moretti, who won the IC4A/ECAC and Atlantic 10 gold medals in shot put this season, reset her own Duquesne school record five times in 2024. Moretti entered the meet seeded 41st in the east region.

HAMILTON SET FOR SATURDAY
Duquesne's Haley Hamilton will round out competition for the Dukes at the NCAA East First Round on Saturday at 5:40 pm in Heat 3 of the 3000m Steeplechase.
