Orlando, Fla. – Battling top-seeded VCU, the Duquesne University men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championships on Friday morning at the USTA National Campus.
With the loss, the Dukes end the season with an 8-12 overall record and a 1-5 mark in league action.
The Rams took the early point in doubles competition, securing wins at the No. 3 and 2 spot. Sophomores

Keita Duclos dropped a 6-3 match to Matisse Bobichon and Hamza El Amine at the second slot as graduate student
Jin Dassanayake and senior
Bode Vance fell by a 6-1 count to Romain Gales and Mathis Bondaz at the final doubles position. Seniors
Kaipo Marshall and
Tamirlan Teberikov match against German Samofalov and Oscar Pinto Sansano was recorded unfinished as it was tied 4-4.
In singles competition, VCU captured three straight wins to secure the match victory. At third singles, Duclos fell to Pinto Sansano 6-1, 6-1 as Vogelaar dropped a 6-2, 6-0 match to Gales at the fourth spot. At the No. 5 slot, Dassanayake was downed by El Amine 6-0, 6-1. Marshall and Bondaz were tallied at 0-6, 4-2 at the top spot while Teberikov and Matisse were 6-2, 3-0 at the second position. At sixth singles, Vance and Samofalov were 0-6, 3-2 as all three matches were carded unfinished.
