Pittsburgh, Pa – The Duquesne University women's tennis team bounced back on Sunday evening, edging IUP, 4-3 at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness of Pittsburgh. With the win, the Dukes improve to 3-5 this season.

Ellen Shanahan downed Veronica Sirci and Hannah Beitat 6-1 in the final spot.
It was an even split in singles competition as both teams captured three victories on Sunday. The Dukes secured the match after taking singles one, three, and five. Latoni tallied a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory over Deewjee at the first slot while Roka fell by a 6-7 (4-7) 3-6 count to Graydon at the second singles. At the third position, Badics came from behind to beat Lina Teleshun, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 while Yankunina fell by a 2-6, 6-4, 3-6 count to Vlachou at the fourth singles. Shanahan defeated Sirci 6-2, 6-2 before
Sofia Serrano fell to Beitat in the final spot.

Duquesne returns to action on Friday, February 23, when it travels to Toledo for a non-conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m.
