SMITHFIELD, RI - Duquesne's
Kiearra Saldi (Taylor, Pa./Holy Cross) and
Shannon Small (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) were both named Second Team All-Northeast Region by the National Tenpin Coaches Association it was announced today.
It is the third NTCA All-Region honor for Saldi who was a Second Team pick in 2020-21 and Honorable Mention choice in 2021-22. Small was an Honorable Mention pick in 2020-21.
Saldi, a senior, and Small, a junior, both earned First Team All-Northeast Conference honors in helping the 11th-ranked Dukes to a share of the NEC regular-season title - the first in the program's seven-year history.
The duo, who led the Dukes to the second NCAA Championship appearance in program history last week, will be back in action next week at the Intercollegiate Team and Singles Championships next week in Las Vegas.
Saldi, who reached the semifinals last year, will be competing in the ISC event.
The All-Region teams were the result of voting by participating head coaches. Due to ties, six student-athletes are on the first team.
The NTCA will announce its All-America teams and annual award honorees on Thursday, April 13 at the NCAA Women's Bowling Championship banquet in Las Vegas, NV.
