ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The Duquesne women's basketball team hit a school-record 20 three-pointers to run away with a win on the road against St. Bonaventure, taking this one by a final score of 94-62. The 20 threes also set a new Atlantic 10-record.
Duquesne improves to 16-10 (6-7 A-10) with the win while St. Bonaventure moves to 5-24 (2-12 A-10).
The Dukes lit it up from beyond-the-arc from the very beginning of the game, hitting seven three-pointers in the first quarter. Leading by 24 points at halftime, Duquesne never let the Bonnies get close in the final 20 minutes. The Dukes never trailed tonight.
The 20 three-pointers breaks the previous record of 19, which was set nearly one year ago against the same team – Feb. 20, 2022 against the Bonnies. Overall, the Dukes shot 60.6 percent from deep (20-for-33).
Junior guard
Amaya Hamilton led the team with 22 points, which tied a career high. She was one rebound short of a double-double. Sophomore guard
Megan McConnell was all over the court tonight, scoring 13 points, grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out eight assists and netting two steals.

Tess Myers made five of her own. Junior forward
Ayanna Townsend was the fifth Duke with 13 or more points, shooting 5-for-7 from the field tonight.
Overall, the Dukes shot 50.8 percent from the field and out-rebounded St. Bonaventure 45-28. Duquesne also recorded 21 assists compared to just four by SBU.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A couple early three-pointers by Hamilton and Myers put Duquesne up 8-0 just a couple minutes into the game. Back-to-back threes from McConnell put Duquesne up 14-4.
The threes kept on coming, and Duquesne finished the first quarter 7-for-11 from long-range. After 10 minutes, the Dukes led 31-14.
The Dukes kept pouring it on in the second quarter, outscoring SBU 19-12. At halftime, Duquesne led 50-26 and were shooting 68.8 percent from three.
As the third quarter got going, Duquesne's shots just kept on falling. With 3:56 left in the quarter, the Dukes grew their lead to 34 points while setting a new season high with 14 three-pointers. Another 22 points put the Dukes up 72-45 heading into the final quarter.

Liv Westphal with 1:14 left in the game broke the school record for three-pointers in a game with 20. Duquesne left no doubt in the outcome as the fourth quarter rolled on, and cruised on its way to a 94-62 victory.
GAME NOTES
- The 20 three-pointers breaks the previous record of 19, which was set nearly one year ago against the same team – Feb. 20, 2022 against the Bonnies.
- The 20 three-pointers tonight also sets a new A-10-record, which was held by Duquesne after last year's 19 threes against St. Bonaventure.
- Bernard tied a career high with six three-pointers made tonight.
- With 22 today, Hamilton tied a career high in points.
- With five today, Myers had made at least two three-pointers in 22 out of 26 games this year.
- She is tied for the fourth-most three-pointers in a single season at Duquesne with 80. She is four three-pointers away from moving into third-place for most three-pointers made in a season.
- Myers is also sixth all-time at Duquesne with 195 three-pointers and is one away from fifth.
- Duquesne's seven three-pointers in the first quarter are the most in any quarter by the Dukes this season.
- This is the third time that the Dukes have score 90 or more points this season and the fifth time they have scored 80 or more.
- Six different Duquesne players had at least two assists tonight.
