Scouting the Seawolves – Monday marks the second consecutive game for Duquesne against a member of the Coastal Athletic Conference (CAA) as well as its first meeting against Stony Brook, a former member of the America East. The Dukes own an all-time record of 10-11 (.476) against current members of the CAA after a 90-72 win over College of Charleston in Annapolis, Md., at the Veterans Classic. The Seawolves were selected to finish ninth in the CAA as part of the 2023-24 preseason poll. Stony Brook posted an overall record of 11-22 (.333) last season, including a mark of 6-12 (.333) in league play.

Head Coach Keith Dambrot (Seventh Year at Duquesne | 26th Year Overall) – Keith Dambrot, who built Akron into one of the most successful - and most respected - programs in the Mid-American Conference over 13 seasons, was named head men's basketball coach at Duquesne University on March 28, 2017. The veteran coach wasted no time making an impact on the DU program with 65 wins in his first four seasons. His 93 wins already rank fifth on the Dukes' all-time victory list and his two 20-win seasons - in just six years - are tied for the third-most in program history. Dambrot reached a significant career milestone on Feb. 8, 2023 when he posted his 500th career victory with a 75-52 triumph over George Mason.

All Dae Every Dae – Senior guard Dae Dae Grant has been a consistent offensive presence in helping Duquesne get off to a 2-0 start for the fourth time under head coach Keith Dambrot. In a 79-77 victory over Cleveland State (11/6/23) to open the year, Grant paced the Dukes with 21 points. He followed that performance with a game-high 22 points in a 90-72 win over the College of Charleston (11/10/23) in Annapolis, Md., as part of the Veterans Classic. Grant, who owns 30 career games eclipsing the 20-point plateau, including 13 at Duquesne, is the first student-athlete for the Dukes to score at least 20 points in back-to-back games to open a season since Wayne Smith (1998-2002) in 2000-01. In wins over North Carolina A&T and UNC Wilmington, Smith paced Duquesne with 28 points in each contest, shooting 20-for-35 (.571) from the floor in the two games.

Rozier set a career high with 20 points in the win, knocking down six of his nine attempts from the floor, including a 3-for-6 showing from beyond the arc, while also going a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line. Rozier also handed out four assists in playing a team-high 37 minutes in victory.
