AKRON, OHIO - The Duquesne women's indoor track team opened the calendar year competing against host Akron, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan and Youngstown State at the Akron Quad at Stile Athletics Field House on Friday, Jan. 13.

Sophomore
Amy Allen finished fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.23 and placed sixth in the 60 meter dash (8.13).
Sophomore
Faith Mucci placed second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.11 and fellow sophomore
Mara Whalen was second in the 800 meter dash finishing in 2:16.91.
Freshman
Ryley Schwalm took second in the mile run (5:17.24), finishing two seconds ahead of teammate Olivia Watson, who placed third (5:19.44).
Emily Brozeski was second in the 60 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 8.77, second in the long jump (5.19m / 17' 0.5") and set another personal best in finishing fifth in the shot put (12.38m / 40' 7.5").
Freshman
Madelyn Moretti took second in the shot with a throw of 13.33m (43' 9").
Sadie Wetzel won the high jump (1.63m / 5' 4.25') and
Jamelah Carswell finished behind Brozeski in the long jump with a leap of 5.18 (17' 0").
Haley Hamilton won the 3000 with a personal best time of 10:34.44 and the foursome of
Amy Allen,
Mara Whalen,
Kaylin Cousin and
Delaney Line won the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:00.22.
On the men's side, freshman Sam DeLa Riva placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.90. Fellow freshman Holden Eagle finished fifth (1:57.21).
The 4x400 relay team of Joseph Grabill, DeLa Riva, Eagle and Trevor Carson finished third in 3:29.79.
Zack Toth took the 3000 meters with a time of 8:46.19.
