AMHERST, MASS. - No. 25 Duquesne (6-0-2, 1-0-1), playing as a ranked team for the first time in 17 years, put together a stout defensive effort to earn a point in a 0-0 draw at UMass (5-0-4, 0-0-2) on Saturday afternoon.
With the outcome, DU broke the school record for games without a loss to open a season.

Domenic Nascimben faced 19 shots - and saved five - in recording his fifth shutout of the season.
Anthony Harding led the Dukes with a pair of shots, including one on goal.
Jayden Da came off the bench to register DU's other shot on goal.
Duquesne, who is ranked by the United Soccer Coaches for the first time since 2005, returns to action for a non-conference game at No. 15 Akron on Wednesday, Sept. 28 (a new poll will be released Tuesday afternoon).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UMass' Alec Hughes, who finished with a game-high seven shots, had the first good scoring opportunity for either team, but shot wide right after making a run down the left side in the ninth minute.
- UMass pressure resulted in a Hughes header off the right post in the 13th minute.
- DU played a long ball over the top to Maxi Hopfer who shot wide right in the 24th minute.
- Jayden Da, who came on for Nate Dragisich in the 26th minute, placed DU's first shot on goal three minutes later.
- DU's Domenic Nascimben made the save of the half when he punched a header from Hughes over the crossbar in the 37th minute.
- Hopfer drew a foul just outside the box resulting in an Anthony Harding free hick that was pick off the back post by UMass keeper Matt Zambetti.
- Nascimben came well off the line to thwart Hughes in the 42nd minute.
- UMass had a 12-5 advantage in shots, including 4-2 on goal, in the first half.
- Duquesne had four corners to two for the Minutemen in the opening 45 minutes.
- DU had three corner kicks in the 55th minute, but were unable to generate a shot.
- Dragisich drew a foul in the 58th minute an served a ball into the box that resulted in DU's eighth corner.
- Cam Territo's fine slide tackle stopped a UMass attack in the 75th minute.
- Torge Witteborg fought through contact to clear the ball in the ensuing Minutemen corner.
- UMass' Nick Zielonka followed a long run by Hughes with a shot off the right post in the 81st minute.
- Hughes shot wide left of the DU net in the 82nd minute.
- Dragisich had a free kick in the 88th minute that resulted in a corer, but Jayden Da was whistled for a foul in the ensuing scrum.
- Duquesne was outshot 19-7, but had a 10-5 advantage in corner kicks.
- UMass had five shots on goal to two for DU.
