BUFFALO, N.Y. -
Tate Mohney pinballed a shot through the Canisius defense in the 62nd minute for the game's lone goal, to give Duquesne a 1-0 win over the Golden Griffins on a sun-splashed afternoon at Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, N.Y.
The win gives the Dukes their first 2-0 start since 2013.
Duquesne dominated play, outshooting the Golden Griffins (0-2) 20-9 - including 9-1 on goal, but didn't find the back of the net until Mohney's effort.
The Dukes, coming off a 1-0 win at Michigan, were once again on point defensively as Canisius' lone shot on goal came in the first half.
DU keeper
Domenic Nascimben was credited with one save in posting his second-straight shutout.
With the victory, the 2022 Dukes have already matched last year' road win total. Duquesne will be back in action on Wednesday, August 31 at Robert Morris.
