Efficient Dukes Dispatch Robert Morris

Move to 3-0 on the young season

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA. - Efficient Duquesne made the most of its five shots, turning two into goals in maintaining its perfect start with a 2-1 win at Robert Morris (0-2) on Wednesday afternoon.

The Dukes got goals from Logan Muck (4') and Cameron Territo (47') in upping their record to 3-0, the program's best start since the 2013 team opened 4-0.

DU turned up the defense in the second half, holding the Colonials to one lone shot.

DU, which opened the season with three consecutive road games for the first time in program history, now has the longest road win streak by a Duquesne team since 2009. The three-straight road wins are one shy of the school record which has been accomplished three times (last in 2005).

With the victory, the 2022 Dukes have already exceeded last year's road win total (2-7-1).

Duquesne is idle until Tuesday's home opener vs. James Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Rooney Field (ESPN+).

  • DU used 19 field players in the win.

DUQUESNE HEAD COACH CHASE BROOKS
"I think we responded really well in the second half. Our guys turned it around nicely. I give the guys a lot of credit for being on the road and not backing down, battling and ultimately getting the result.
"We wanted to start strong and knew the first three games would be difficult in their own way. It was imperative that we took care of results and took care of things on the defensive side.
"Now its time to go back home and open up against a very tough James Madison team."
