RICHMOND, Va. – The Duquesne men's track and field team had multiple athletes qualify for the finals in their events on the first day of the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships.
Â
Isaac Elliott posted the fastest times in both the 100- and 200-meter prelims. His time of 10.31 seconds paced the field in the 100, while his 20.86 second-time in the 200 was the only sub-21 second time of the day.
Â
Ian Thrush was right behind Elliott in both events. He qualified for the 200-meter finals with the second-fastest time behind Elliott (21.27) and established the fifth-best time in the 100 meters at 10.57 seconds.
Â
Collin Ebling focused on the 800-meter run and advanced to the finals with a time of one minute, 53.46 seconds – the third-best time in the field.
Â
Matt Busche was right behind Ebling with the fourth-best time in the 800 meters to also qualify for Sunday's finals.
Â
Ryan Ellison, who was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week this past Thursday, established a new school-record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.58 seconds. Despite the time, he missed the cut in the strong field by .09 (nine-one hundredth of a second).
