WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Duquesne University men's track & field team placed 11
th out of 40 teams at the 56
th Annual Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary Friday and Saturday.
The Dukes notched 31 points to finish among the top half of the competing teams. Brown University won the event.
Duquesne placed two of the top-five runners in the 800-meter run.
Collin Ebling established a new school record and won the championship heat with a time of one minute, 48.83 seconds. Meanwhile,
Matt Busche took fifth in the event with a time of one minute, 51 seconds-flat. Both times were also IC4A/ECAC qualifying times.
Isaac Elliott and
Ian Thrush both scored points in the 100-meter dash. Elliott took third overall at 10.63 seconds, while Thrush crossed the tape in seventh at 10.84 seconds.
Matt Hurley took ninth place in the 110-meter hurdles with a season's-best time of 15.15 seconds.
Ryan Ellison also turned in a season's-best time in the "university" heat of the event with a time of 15.20 seconds to place second.
Busche, Zach DeCarmine, Ellison and Ebling took sixth out of 16 in the 4x400-meter relay with a season's-best time of three minutes, 19.05 seconds.
Sam Snodgrass ran a season's-best time in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the final line in 14 minutes, 48.96 seconds.
The Dukes return to competition on Thursday, April 14 for the two-day Bucknell Outdoor Classic.
