ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The Dukes converted a program-record 19 three pointers to surge past St. Bonaventure 99-75 Sunday afternoon at the Reilly Center.

Duquesne (11-15, 6-8 A-10) smashed the previous school-record of 14 which was set in games against Akron (12/4/19) and La Salle (2/25/09). The total also ties the Atlantic 10 record which was established by Dayton on Jan. 4, 2018. The Dukes finished the day 19 of 33 (57.6 percent) from beyond-the-arc and made eight of their last nine attempts in the contest.

Fatou Pouye (Kaolack, Senegal/Glasgow Christian) led all players with 27 points on 10 of 16 shooting, including 5-of-7 from long range, with seven rebounds.

Libby Bazelak (Kettering, Ohio/Alter) dropped 21 points on 7-of-9 from the field, including a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range. The five treys matched a career-high. She also dished out nine assists. Bazelak had 16 points alone at the half.

Tess Myers (Lower Burrell, Pa./North Catholic) matched her career-high with six three pointers and posted 18 points with a career-high nine rebounds.
Amaya Hamilton also reached double figures with 13 points and six rebounds.

St. Bonaventure (12-13, 4-10 A-10) opened the game with a 9-2 run to put the Dukes in a hole early and forced Head Coach
Dan Burt to burn a timeout. Duquesne came out of the break focused and answered with a 14-3 run to take a 16-12 lead with 3:45 to play in the first quarter. The Bonnies countered with another run, a 12-5 spurt, that sent the Dukes into the second quarter trailing 24-21.

St. Bonaventure rebuilt its lead to 36-29 by the 5:20-mark of the second quarter. Duquesne answered back with consecutive treys by Bazelak and Pouye to quickly slice the deficit to 36-35 with 3:26 to play until halftime. A trio of
Megan McConnell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) free throws were all the Dukes could muster over the final three minutes of the half and sent the team into the locker room trailing 42-38.

Duquesne had its best half of basketball this season in the third and fourth quarters. The Dukes went on a 21-6 run over the first five minutes of the third to establish a 59-48 lead. Pouye had 12 of the 21 during the run in which the team shot 7-of-11 and forced five turnovers. Duquesne maintained the lead and heading into the fourth quarter with a 67-59 advantage.

Duquesne put the game away with seven three-pointers in the fourth quarter. The Dukes out-scored the Bonnies 32-16 and shot an impressive 12 of 17 (70.6 percent) from the field over the final 10 minutes. Duquesne led by as many as 25 points before the final horn went off.

The offensive outburst was the second-most points in a single-game under Head Coach
Dan Burt and is tied for the fifth-most all-time. It was the most points in a game since Duquesne dropped 106 against Rhode Island on March 5, 2019.

The Dukes finished with a season-high 24 assists on 35 made field goals. As a team, the Dukes shot 35 of 68 (51.5 percent).

The 29 points scored in the third quarter was just three off the pace of the highest-scoring third under Burt (32 – vs. La Salle 1/11/20). The Dukes 32 points in the fourth quarter was one-shy of matching the high under Burt. Duquesne scored 33 points in the fourth against Saint Joseph's on March 4, 2017.

Bazelak moved into 27
th all-time in scoring, passing both Tanya Larrydale (1984-87) and Keri Pryor (2007-10) in the process.

St. Bonaventure guard Asianae Johnson finished with 19 points to lead the Bonnies.

Duquesne will travel to Philadelphia on Wednesday, Feb. 23 to take on La Salle. The game will tip at 6 p.m. and broadcast on ESPN+.
