PITTSBURGH - A quartet of Dukes have earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team it was announced today.
Senior defender
Torge Witteborg (Dortmund, Germany / 3.9 GPA in management), graduate student goalkeeper
Domenic Nascimben (Sydney, Australia / 3.8 GPA in international relations), who were both named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team last week, along with teammates junior midfielder
Harper Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa. / 3.86 GPA in finance) and junior forward
Maxi Hopfer (Styria, Austria / 3.59 in computer science) were all recognized for their outstanding classroom performance.
The four Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on December 7.
Witteborg, Nascimben, Cook and Hopfer, are the 18th through 21st players in program history to earn Academic All-District® honors (the 21 have combined to be named a total of 35 times) and first since Austin Stout was named to the team in 2017 & 2018.
Duquesne has had nine men's soccer players combine to earn 15 Academic All-America® honors in program history.
