PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne University volleyball team dropped its second-straight match to George Washington Saturday afternoon at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

None of the three sets were won in dominating fashion by the Colonials, but GW found a way to hold on to each one.

Morgan Kelly was right behind her with nine of her own.
Senior
Anita Parrott had seven kills and added a block. Freshman
Carsyn Henschen also recorded a block to go along with her five kills.
Senior
Hailey Poling recorded 33 more assists today.
Duquesne out-killed the Colonials today, 40-39. From the service line, GW notched seven aces compared to Duquesne's one, which was a deciding factor in three close sets today.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite GW leading for the entirety of the first set, its lead never got out of hand. The Dukes were able to stay within five the whole way, they just could not overcome the deficit at any point.
The second set went in pretty similar fashion, but there were two lead changes and seven ties throughout. Down 21-16, the Dukes ripped off a 5-0 run to tie it at 21. A late GW timeout got their heads back into it as it ended up closing out a tight set two with a 25-23 win.
The third and final set was a tough one to drop for Duquesne. This set, with 11 ties and seven lead changes, felt like it was in control by the Dukes. Duquesne led late at 19-18, but that is where things went downhill. GW went on another run, this time a 7-0 run, to win the set and the match for the Colonials.
