WASHINGTON, D.C. - In a game played in the swampy aftereffects of hurricane Ian, No. 24 Duquesne (7-1-2, 2-0-1) rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat George Washington (5-4-2, 1-2), 2-1, in an Atlantic 10 matchup on Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C.
Jacob Casha (43') tied it late in the first half and
Maxi Hopfer (63') put it away on a header off a scrum in front of the box. It was the second goal of the season for both players.
The victory was DU's fourth on the road this year (4-1-2), marking just the second time in the past 16 seasons that a Duquesne team has posted four road wins.
Domenic Nascimben was once again solid in net with four saves for DU.
The Dukes, behind yet another fine defensive effort, outshot the Colonials 8-1 in the second half and 17-7 for the game.
