Duquesne (6-12, 1-5) begins a busy month of February when it welcomes Richmond (13-8, 4-4) to UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 7:00 p.m. (ESPN+).

Richmond is the first of nine currently scheduled games for the Dukes this month (DU still has one Atlantic 10 game - vs. George Mason - yet to be rescheduled). This is the first time since 2000-01 that DU will play at least nine February games.

The Dukes are looking to snap a five-game losing streak against a UR team picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll. The Spiders, who are 5-2 on the road, have won their past three A-10 road games (at Fordham, La Salle & Rhode Island). Duquesne has dropped three-straight at home against teams picked to finish fifth (Dayton), first (St. Bonaventure) and third (Saint Louis) in the A-10 preseason poll.

TRENDING
  • Junior F/C Austin Rotroff, a key contributor off the bench, is out 4-6 weeks with a foot injury. He averaged 7.0 rebounds in 18 min/g. in the four games prior to the Jan. 20 announcement. DU, who is already without frontcourt transfer R.J. Gunn Jr. (preseason ankle injury), is 0-4 without Rotroff.
  • DU, which was averaging 70.6 ppg. at the time of Rotroff's injury, is averaging 55.5 ppg. in four games without him (52, 56, 61 & 53 points).
  • Duquesne, which entered the Saint Louis game averaging 11.2 turnovers/g., turned it over 12 times in the first half on the way to  a season high-tying 20 for the game. Despite the uncharacteristic outing, DU's 11.7 turnovers/g. rate is in position to challenge the school record low of 11.0 set in 2013-14.
  • Freshman guard Primo Spears, a two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week, has led the Dukes in scoring a team-high seven times. He has scored 20 or more twice in A-10 play (21 at UMass & 20 at Fordham), Spears, who leads the team with a 14.0 ppg. average in league play, is coming off a one-point outing vs. Saint Louis (0-of-5).
  • Fellow freshman guard Jackie Johnson III, who has scored 27 points in a game twice (vs. Weber State & at UMass), has scored in double digits in three of six A-10 games.
  • First-year Indiana State transfer Tre Williams has pair of seven-block games (vs. Colorado at the Paradise Jam and at Fordham). Williams, an MVC All-Defensive Team member last season, recorded six of his seven blocks at Fordham in the second half. He has 16 blocks in six A-10 games.
  • First-year TCU transfer Kevin Easley Jr. has scored in double digits a team-high 15 times.
  • Duquesne ranks sixth nationally in fewest fouls per game (13.4). Only two schools (New Hampshire & St. Bonaventure) have committed fewer total fouls than DU's 241.
