BRONX, N.Y. - Antonio Daye Jr.'s driving layup with four seconds left was the difference as Fordham (9-5, 2-0) snapped Duquesne's (6-8, 1-1) three-game win streak with a 72-71 victory on Wednesday night at Rose Hill Gym in the Bronx, N.Y.
Daye's drive followed a missed free throw by Duquesne with nine seconds left.
Primo Spears led four Dukes in double figures with 20 points.
Leon Ayers III and
Jackie Johnson III added 13 points each for the Dukes who dropped to 1-1 in conference play.
Tre Williams had 12 points, seven rebounds and a career high-tying seven blocks for DU.
Duquesne, which led by 11 in the early minutes of the second half, went scoreless for nearly four minutes as the Rams put together a 14-2 run to take a 63-55 lead with just over seven minutes remaining.
The Dukes battled back to tie it a 67-67 on an Ayers III 3-pointer.
Ayers III gave DU a 69-68 lead on a pair of free throws, before Chuba Ohams, who finished with 14 points, 16 rebounds and eight blocks, scored in the paint to put Fordham up one.

DU forced a turnover that Spears turned into a corner jumper to give Duquesne a 71-70 lead with 33 seconds left.
Williams then blocked a pair of shots, the second of which led to a Rams timeout with 13 seconds left.
The Dukes forced and errant 3-point attempt and the ball was rebounded by
Kevin Easley Jr. who was fouled with nine seconds left.
Easley Jr. missed the one-and-one and Fordham's Kyle Rose rebounded and quickly got the ball to Daye for the driving layup.
Johnson III missed a long shot from near half court at the final horn.
DU fell behind 12-7 before mounting a 20-4 run to take an 11-point lead. The Dukes built the advantage to 33-20 on a Williams bucket before Fordham cut it to 40-33 at the half.
Johnson III and Williams led DU with 11 and 10 points respectively in the opening 20 minutes.
Fordham took a 45-44 as Duquesne missed seven of its first eight shots out of the half.
Duquesne returns home to host Dayton (10-6, 2-1) on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 12:30 p.m. at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. The game, which will be televised nationally by NBC Universal (USA Network), will be DU's first at home since Dec. 11.

- The loss snapped DU's six-game series win streak.
- Tre Williams posted six of his career high seven blocks in the second half. Williams also blocked seven shots earlier this season vs. Colorado at the Paradise Jam.
- The game was Duquesne's first this season with no fans in attendance.

- Duquesne's largest lead was 13, the last of which came at 33-20 with 3:35 left in the first half ...
