PREVIEW: DuqBowling at NEC Championship

NCAA Championship bid on the line in New Jersey

Ninth-ranked Duquesne takes a No. 2 overall seed into the 2021 NEC Women's Bowling Championship scheduled for March 19-21 at Hamilton Lanes in Trenton, N.J.

The Dukes earned the second seed after going 16-5 in NEC regular-season matches. This is the second-straight year DU has earned the No. 2 seed (last year's Championship was canceled).

All five programs competing head to the Championship ranked among the Top 18 in the nation according to the latest NTCA Top 25 poll.

DU, which enters the Championship on a 10-match win streak, opens on Friday at 2:00 p.m. vs. No. 3 Sacred Heart.

The winner of the three-day event will receive the NEC's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Championship to be played at AMF Pro Lanes in North Kansas City, Mo. April 7-10.

All NEC Championship matches will be streamed live on NEC Front Row.

No Spectator Policy
The Northeast Conference has announced it will not permit any spectators to attend the following NEC Championships: Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's and Women's Basketball, Women's Bowling, Women's Volleyball, and Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving. Decisions about allowing spectators at NEC Championship events conducted beginning in mid-April will be made at a future date.

Since last March the NEC membership has been working diligently to develop and implement policies and protocols to allow our student-athletes and coaches to compete in a safe and healthy environment. To date, none of our institutions have permitted spectators to attend on-campus events in accordance with campus and local health guidelines. The decision to preclude spectators at NEC championship events was not made lightly, as it prohibits our loyal fans, as well as the friends and families of our student-athletes and coaches from watching their teams compete for an NEC title in person. This mandate applies to NEC Championship events only; spectator policies for regular season events will continue to be made at the local and campus levels. We invite all of our fans to follow, for free, NEC regular season and championship action on NEC Front Row and via the NEC on the Run app.
