Eleventh-ranked Duquesne went 7-6 in placing eighth in a loaded 16-team field at the SFA LadyJack Classic held at Sheridan Lanes in Kenosha, Wis. over the weekend.

The Dukes, who were one of seven ranked teams in the field, opened with a tight 19-pin loss to #4 Vanderbilt in Friday's baker round.

Following a 1038-951 defeat at the hands of No. 1 Nebraska, DU rallied for back-to-back wins over Maryville (with a high total of 1027) and North Central College before dropping a 1064-947 decision to No. 10 Stephen F. Austin.

In Saturday's traditional round, the Dukes opened with wins over Aurora University, Lewis University and Valparaiso, before dropping decisions to No. 2 McKendree and #21 Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Three-time All-American Olivia Farwell placed sixth overall with a 213.6 average in five games. Kiearra Saldi, who rolled a 249 in the win over Valpo, was tenth with a 211.6 average.

In Sunday's championship round, the ninth-seeded Dukes defeated both Lewis (4-0) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (4-2) to set up a showdown with Stephen F. Austin for seventh place.

DU went up 2-1, before dropping the third match by two pins. The Dukes took a 3-1 lead with a 195-188 win in the fourth game before SFA rallied to take the final pair.

The Dukes (29-14) will be back in action Nov. 19-21 at the Hawk Classic Invitational at Millsboro Lanes in Millsboro, Del.
